The Public Library in the Electronic World
Report. A Survey initiated by NAPLE

The initiative to this report was taken at a EU-meeting on public libraries in Lisbon in 1999 where participants from the national library authorities (or equivalent) were discussing the prospect of creating a forum with a view to co-ordinating and promoting causes of common concern.
This forum or network were to function as a platform for a European policy on public libraries, and it was provisionally christened NAPLE (National Authorities of Public Libraries in Europe).
